The concept of urban chic was reborn when The Serras opened its doors in February 2015. The five star design hotel once housed the studio of Pablo Picasso who painted one of his most famous early works, Science and Charity, here. Set in the Gothic Quarter, the hotel overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and new Port Vell marina, making it Barcelona’s ideal holiday place. Each of the 28 modern rooms seems to have sprung from the pages of a glossy interior magazine. Wooden floors and white walls provide a Zen vibe, punctuated by quirky pieces of furniture like a free-standing bathtub. Even better, they have all been soundproofed and come with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Word on the street is that the hotel has the best sunspot thanks to its amazing rooftop terrace and infinity pool. The Informal Restaurant, run by Michelin-starred Chef Marc Gascons, completes a perfect stay.
