Un belge à Londres: Louis Ghewy hair artist

Ils sont nombreux les talents belges qui s’exportent et notamment à Londres. Louis Ghewy est un de ceux-là.

Le jeune belge partage, en exclusivité pour elle.be, son expérience en direct des défilés de la semaine de la mode de Londres.

Louis a débuté dans la coiffure à Anvers. Après avoir étudié pendant 5 ans, il décide de passer à la vitesse supérieure et s’installe à Londres, la Mecque des artistes du cheveux.

Arrivé en juin 2011, il enchaîne les stages chez Toni & Guy et Vidal Sassoon. Très vite il décroche un job sur les défilés dans l’équipe d’Alex Brownsell. Le courant passe et Louis continue en tant qu’assistant sur des shootings pour Vogue Uk, i-D, Dazed and confused tout en continuant à travailler dans son salon Bleach.

Cette saison Louis a été approché par Anthony Turner, une autre pointure dans la coiffure. Nous allons donc le suivre et vivre en insider ce qui se passe aux défilés.

After studying hairdressing for 5 years in Antwerp, i thought it was time to take my skills to a whole new level. So I decided to move to London, the mecca of hairdressers and hairstylists. After getting here in june 2011 and realizing there was still so much to learn I did a few short term courses at Toni & Guy and Vidal Sassoon. By the time I finished them it was London Fashion Week. After applying as a assistant at a few agencies Alex Brownsell’s agent got back to me asking if I wanted to be in her team. From there on it all went really quick and did shows like Craig Lawrence, Nazir Mazhar and Markus Lupfer  After fashion week I’ve been assisting Alex Brownsell on a daily basis and did a few jobs for vogue uk, i-D, Dazed and confused with her and i’ve also been working in her BLEACH salon.

This season Anthony Turner approached me asking if i wanted to join his team. Funny fact is that the background on my phone is a picture of Arizona Muse and Daphne Groenveld with hair by Anthony turner, so i decided to do it.
